BPR is currently helping a business client with the retail property website. It was created by a local publishing company a long time ago and it's not been updated for a while. Some tenants left for somewhere they get more exposure to the prospective customers. So, we as a team decided to improve the website to be more attractive and entertaining. The result would lead more businesses to the tenants in the shopping center.
In addition to the design work, BPR will take care of the maintenance.
Like our other customers, the client has been paying a lot of money (we guess it's more than $80 a month) for the web hosting which they thought was mandatory in order to keep the website up and running. However, what many web maintenance providers do is actually sitting back and waiting for something wrong happens. When it happens, they fix it. So, it's not really cost-effective to the customers.
On the other hand, BPR offers more cost-effective and customer-friendly services. What we do breaks down as the following::
1. Design & Setup (design service + the domain name transfer cost if necessary)
As we're capable to create any website of every client's choice, we take enough time to recommend what options are the best possible to the client. We create a website at a very reasonable one-time design fee that usually includes unlimited basic updates for the first month.
Regarding the website hosting, we highly recommend all clients to start saving money by switching to so-called "Pay-as-Needed" option if their current providers charge them a lot of money only to keep the websites running. Many service providers on the market charge a monthly fee no matter whether or not they assist the customers with changing something on the websites.
Nowadays, the web hosting is very cheap. The basic website hosting can start from only $4 a month. If the clients just want to keep the websites running without any changes, that's the only cost occurring monthly - far less than what many service providers charge their clients.
To start the saving by switching to a new web hosting provider, we always need to contact the current service provider for some basic information and ask them to release the ownership of the domain name unless the clients retain it. Most website design companies hold the ownership of customer's domain names because they can retain their business in that way. We truly believe that's unethical. We at Best PC Reno retain the business by providing the quality services and exceeding customer's expectation. So, we will get our customers the ownership of the own domain name. The current provider might charge the release fee (I'd say no more than $100) but our clients start saving a lot of money right after they switch to a new provider. We will assist every customer with the process in the personal level.
2. Maintenance
We never charge any monthly fee unless the clients decide to let us maintain the websites for the fee. Many provider tell the customers that they need to pay the providers to keep the websites running. But, the truth is, as long as the server is running, the websites are running.
However, we recommend our clients to update the websites at least once a month to stay competitive and attractive on the market. They can add news, articles, pictures, etc. The benefits is: the more frequently they add something to their websites, the better/higher position the websites gets in a search result for related keywords such as "commercial properties for lease" in the current project for an example.
We never try to sell the setup and maintenance as a package. We always make sure that our clients get the best possible solutions for their computer-related needs. It sometimes takes us a time, but that's' our people-first philosophy that motivates us to assist every and all clients with true cares.
